I've been wanting to try Haidilao for a while now and finally got my chance to come. I had made a reservation ahead of time and while they say that the reservations are really just supposed to be for 90 minutes, we were here for a little more than 2 hours and our server never felt like he was rushing us through the meal or that we had to go. We were seated right away in a big, comfortable booth when we arrived. As we had a couple of kids with us under the age of 5, they were given a bunch of complimentary things shortly after we got started - snacks, toys, kid friendly bowls and utensils, and they even have an entire kids' meal that is completely on the house. It's served in a suction silicon plate with two chicken nuggets and ketchup, grapes, and a Yakult drink. My kids devoured it and it put them in a happy enough mood that the adults were able to enjoy most of the meal in peace. They only have AYCE on the weekdays, on the weekends everything is a la carta. You order via a tablet that is kept at your table and can continue to submit orders throughout your meal. The food is brought out either by a staff or one of the restaurant's robots. Everything we had was fresh and delicious. For your soup bases, you can choose to have either 1, 2, or 4. We went with 4: the spicy beef tallow, the pork bone broth, the golden base, and the tom yum. The spicy one is super spicy, even after we customized it to be 20% less spicy than the standard. The other ones were super yummy and each had a unique flavor that was great to dip the ingredients into, but that were also good to sip on their own. They have a "dancing noodles" option on the menu where a guy will literally come to your table and "dance" for you while making fresh noodles for you. This was a very popular option and he was making his rounds through all the tables. We had ordered this for our table but after 45 minutes when he still hadn't come by, we decided to cancel this order. For dessert, you finish off with some soft serve ice cream in a plain cone, either vanilla or ube flavor, or do the best of both worlds and get a swirl of both flavors. They have a big DIY sauce bar available but charge you $3.99 per person for it. For those that don't know about the secret codes...Google it. We decided to ask our waiter if they had the golden bricks, which he acknowleged and our golden buns came out fresh and hot a while later with a sweet condensed milk dipping sauce on the side.

I love this Haidilao location! Best customer service, the staff comes by all the time to check up on customers. Irene was my waiter and her service was amazing. She helped ensure all of our items came out right away, even the items we added later on. Their fruits at the sauce station is also always soooo fresh!

This was my first time at the acclaimed Haidilao even though I've driven by this location many times. It was a cold rainy evening so perfect for hotpot. One nice thing is that they take reservations so we were able to be seated as soon as we arrived, even though our whole party wasn't there. The restaurant is large, packed, and has both a sauce and dessert bar on either end. They also have lots of snacks, which was much appreciated while we waited for our food to arrive. We went with the intention of ordering the Jackson Wang birthday special (IYKYK) and it came with several plates of meat, two different soup bases, vegetables, plum juice, Coke, and a noodle dance! It was my first time seeing the dance and I have to say it was really entertaining. I would give Haidilao a 4.5 for food, as the quality was good but not the best I've ever had at hotpot. You do get what you pay for, so expect a minimum $50 bill at the end. (Note: they can only split amongst two cards at most.) However, for the service and atmosphere I'd give this place a 5/5. It's definitely somewhere to go if you're looking to celebrate something/someone special, and I enjoyed all the little touches that made the dining experience that much more memorable. (Their promotions are also quite elaborate.) I would love to come back sometime when I want another hot pot fix.

Haidilao is always such a pleasant dining experience. I haven't been here in a while, but I'm so glad I decided to stop by for dinner today. The Fremont location has the golden chicken broth now - I've been wanting to try this broth for a while now ever since I saw my friends get it at the Cupertino Haidilao. I love golden chicken broth, and this really hit the spot. Overall, the food was good - great quality meats, fresh and clean vegetables, delectable sauce bar, and a complimentary ice cream machine! Service is amazing as always - this is what really makes the experience special at Haidlao. Waters are always filled, new napkins constantly provided, empty dishes cleared - they do it all. One other thing, I really love about Haidilao is the bathrooms and the amenities. Even if I'm not using the amenities, it's just nice to see that they provide them in the bathrooms and at the table. The only negative thing I will note is that the dancing noodle took a very long time to come out. We understood that there was going to be a delay at the time of ordering, but it didn't come out until 10-15 minutes after we were had already finished eating everything else. Also, the person doing the dancing noodle looked like he really didn't want to be ther, which killed the excitement for the dancing noodle performance. Unfortunately, our noodle got caught on the wall behind him during the performance but he kept going as if nothing happened and didn't get a new piece of noodle for us - a slight sanitary concern for us.

The service always exceeds here! At times the food and drinks get delayed but the workers hard to correct and make it right. This location has a wide range of snacks and ice cream along with a toppings bar station. This place can get pretty packed - reservations are quite helpful! I see a lot of celebrations and birthdays here as well.

My first time at Haidilao! Had a reservation for 6 pm and was promptly seated. Inside is packed though, and by the time we left there was a huge wait so definitely recommend having a reservation or coming early. Ordered a bunch of things to share with lots of people, standouts include the ribeye, special tofu, and yam noodle. I also really liked the dancing noodle 拉面 performance, but thought the noodles themselves were fair. The soup bases are all delicious, tried the pork, spicy pork, tomato, and water. My favorite was the tomato- so flavorful! The dessert bar at the end is also a highlight, i love the ice jelly bar and Ube ice cream. Service is really 100% here, the servers and staff in general really go above and beyond to help you. At the end they brought out some free gifts- iykyk! Overall was a wonderful time, would definitely recommend!

This is my 5 year-old's absolute favorite place -- and trust me, he doesn't let me forget it. Every time we drive by, he's already plotting our next visit. Not that he eats much here (let's be honest, hotpot isn't exactly 5-year-old cuisine), but with free kids' meals that include chicken nuggets, an adorable rabbit-shaped bao, yakult drink, and a toy, Haidilao has figured out the perfect way to win over both kids and their paying parents. Their family-friendly approach clearly works because I'm here spending way more than I intended while my kid walks out grinning with his new toy, he's thrilled, and I'm already a silver member (yes, they got me). Now let's talk about the real star of the show: the service. Haidilao's customer service is on another level. From the moment you check in on their iPad to the time you leave, it's like you're being pampered at a five-star hotel, not a hotpot restaurant. While you wait, there's an array of snacks, hot tea, and even small toys to keep everyone happy (today, it was a pinwheel toy). Once seated, they offer aprons, phone screen wipe, and an iPad for ordering which is quick and seamless. The soup bases are the heart of the meal, and Haidilao doesn't disappoint. My absolute favorite is the Chongqing Spicy Beef Tallow -- it's a fiery, numbing mala experience that's packed with immense chili flavor. Fair warning, though: it's pretty oily, so if you want a similar but less oily experience, the regular Spicy Beef Tallow is a good alternative (though it's also less spicy, but it does have mala). For something more mellow, the Spicy Pork Bone Broth is an easy winner. It's comforting, clear, and flavorful enough to sip directly, unlike the Chongqing option, which is more about the heat than the broth itself. The food itself is fresh and high quality, with some veggies and meat variety that changes with the season, and the customizable dipping sauces are where you can really tailor the experience. My go-to sauce recipe is inspired by Dooby on YouTube, and it's packed with tangy, bold flavors: - 1 scoop of peanut sauce - 1 scoop of fermented soybeans - 1 scoop of green onions - 1 scoop of cilantro - 1 scoop of minced garlic - 1 scoop of homemade soy sauce - Double the soy sauce with black vinegar (8 teaspoons, roughly) - Finally, add a little spicy soup base directly into the mix. Haidilao is not just a meal -- it's an event. And the fact that they're open until 2 am? Huge win for those of us looking for a late-night spot when everything else closes by 8 or 9. Whether it's a family outing, a date night, or just a craving for exceptional hotpot, Haidilao delivers every time.
